Biography

Jerry Lee Nelson (b. 1986, United States) earned his M.F.A. in Painting from Savannah College of Art and Design in the fall of 2021. He has received a B.F.A. degree in Drawing from Memphis College of Art. Jerry received his Associates of Arts degree from Northwest Mississippi Community College. He has exhibited his work in group exhibitions locally in the city of Senatobia, Mississippi alongside other local artists from Tate County, Mississippi. Jerry has conducted various art workshops throughout Tate County under the guidance of Sycamore Arts. These workshops granted children the opportunity to learn basic arts and crafts. His first group exhibition was in 2011 in Senatobia, Mississippi. He has served (and currently serves) as an educator of the arts at Senatobia High School since 2011. Jerry also serves as board member of Sycamore Arts, which is an organization sponsoring many art programs throughout Tate County. Sycamore Arts also grants yearly art scholarships to high school seniors who plan to seek Art as a college major.
